Have to agree with all the calls for Steve Bruce to go - no matter whether we blame the players for such a poor performance, those players didn't become bad overnight - SOMETHING has gone wrong at the club, cos if Bruce's telling them to do certain things, then they either aren't doing them at all, or he's telling them a load of bull!! And has anyone on here wondered exactly WHY the players are getting so many injuries? Surely it can't be a coincidence that we have had the best part of 11 players out injured for most of the season!! The training must be absolutely woeful if they keep picking up so many injuries!! Either that, or some are feigning injury to avoid having to play in this debacle (Upson????).

I say get rid of Bruce AND the coaches now!! Lets face it, we're going down anyway - i'd hazard a guess that at this rate, it'll be Pompey with the momentum to stay up....!! Get someone else in, give them time to settle in this season (whats left of it) and prepare for the fight to get us back up, cos if we stay like this, with Bruce in charge, we could end up in League One the year after this! I can't think of a Championship side that would have been that poor last night - and that scares me.

Sorry Steve, nice guy as you might be, i'd never want to see anyone forced out of a job, but if i was as bad at my job as you are now, i'd be lucky not to be sacked!!

The best thing you can do to win the fans of BCFC back is to leave. Honestly.

Face facts chap.

Thats my 2p worth!

The reasonh Bruce won't resign...

No one will want him as a manager again, he has to get some results else his careers over thats why he'll stick it out

DS should call a board meeting and demand Bruce goes.

For the record, TF did NOT take Sheffield Wednesday down.

And for those who say sacking SB now will do nothing, I heard a rumour last night that its in SB's contract that he can't be sacked in the summer. If that is true then sacking him now is a far better option than leaving it until after few games into next season

Spot on.

Bruce knows he had a bad reputation for walking away from clubs before he joined here and his managerial career will be in tatters if he leaves.

Looks like the board are going to have to grow a back bone and sack him then.

he aint got the ball's to resign, the only way that we'll get rid of him is either by sacking him or letting his contract run out, simply as!!!

 Not judging by this he wont, he is letting his pride get in the way of what his head is telling him.

Well you heard what the Liverpool fans sang "Steve Bruce! his got a big fat head"! so its bound to get in the way!

Read David Golds comments after the Maik Taylor interview and you are straight to the Crux of the matter, the reason he wont walk, and the board wont sack him.

Bruce vows to carry on as manager

Birmingham boss Steve Bruce believes he is the right manager to revive the relegation-threatened club after their FA Cup humiliation by Liverpool.
"I'll analyse myself but I want to turn it round," said a shell-shocked Bruce, after Liverpool's 7-0 victory.

"I'm not going to take anything for granted and questions will be asked.

"The board have always been good to me, but I still think I'm the right person to see it through. The one thing I am is resilient and I'll need to be."

Bruce added that the defeat was the worst he had suffered in 25 years as a player and a manager.

"Sometimes football kicks you in the teeth - and certainly that is the biggest one I have taken," the Birmingham manager added.

"You are just shell-shocked; in the end it was men against boys.

"I accept responsibility; I am not a quitter by nature. I will try and do my best to make sure we stay in the division."

Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez believed luck played a part in his side's victory.

"I'm delighted with the final result and the performance of the players," said the Spaniard.

"Sometimes you cannot score goals after 30 attempts - as against Charlton - but here every time we shot it was a goal.

"We have quality. The strikers are really good, and in this case we had a lot of luck."
